I hated the 6th One Piece movie. I was *really* upset to see the crew so divided and fighting. It was more bearable to see them get separated on Sabody than to see them actually fighting for real. That part of the movie is what ruined the whole thing for me I guess…
I think what’s even worse is that this shitty sidecharacter gave the final blow to the bad guy ! I mean, seriously ?! It’s like the people who made this movie were so in love with their own (mary-sue) characters that they just forgot that it’s supposed to be about Luffy and his nakama ! NAKAMASHIP ! heeelllloooooo ?
I really liked that movie …until that crap ending.
just thinking about it makes me go shdfjkajsfkajssdjaknfjvdbnjkdnckasknjfs
hahahah
I personally really liked that bit. I think it’s a tad narrow-minded to assume it’s up to Luffy and crew to take care of everything, y’know?
The world of One Piece is full of characters, and they are all important in so many ways. They are all meant to fulfill important roles. If even one did not exist, the structure of the story would begin to falter.
I like that this movie broke the mold. And the guy didn’t necessarily defeat the big bad wolf, you know, but what he did was gather up the courage he had been lacking throughout the movie, and prove to his family that their Papa was brave, by killing the Lily Carnation. Sure it was the monster that everyone was afraid of, but it was just a tool. The bad guy was the Baron. Luffy defeated the Baron in the end, so technically this “shitty sidecharacter” did not do all the work. He just helped facilitate the victory for Luffy, who obviously could not defeat Lily on his own. I thought that was clear.
The whole point of the movies anyway is for them to be about a more concentrated cast, meaning Luffy and crew and a few other new characters. Sidecharacters are everywhere, but without them there’s no movie. It’s about the experiences of the crew with complete and total strangers.
I probably just ranted a lot, but I really dislike when people don’t give the minor characters their due just because they had bigger roles than people might want. It’s not all about the main characters.
If it was, it’d be Naruto. Or Bleach. But this is One Piece.
